A new special exhibition on how people and goods have moved through history — by foot, horse, rail, road, sea and air. On display every Saturday, 10am–1pm, from September to Christmas 2026. Free admission.

Transport through the Ages

Free admission, no pre-booking required — the museum's Heritage Day is part of the nationwide Heritage Open Days festival.

This year's new display launches the special exhibition, “Transport through the Ages,” on the movement of people around Wirral by rail, road, sea and air. Alongside it: local history collections including Grange Road Shops, Wirral Archaeology, Cheshire Home Front, Calday Grammar School and a West Kirby Escape Room setup, plus continuous local history and heritage films, and light refreshments on-site.
