A one-mile, one-hour walk around the conservation area of the Old Village, taking in buildings dating back to the 17th century. The walk met at the Lych Gate, St Bridget's Church.
Booking was essential — narrow pavements made the route unsuitable for wheelchairs, the less mobile, or prams.
You can follow much of the same route yourself: the museum's Visitor Info page includes a short self-guided version of the Old Village walk, past buildings including Sycamore Cottage (1746) and the Ring O' Bells (1810).
