Daniel Craig grew up on the Wirral and went to school in the West Kirby area, long before becoming one of the most recognisable actors in the world as the sixth actor to play Ian Fleming's James Bond.
Craig was born in Chester and grew up chiefly in Liverpool and on the Wirral, attending Hilbre High School in West Kirby and later Calday Grange Grammar School in West Kirby, before training at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
Before Bond, Craig built a substantial career in British and international film and television, with roles in Our Friends in the North, Layer Cake and Munich. He was cast as James Bond in 2005 and made his debut in Casino Royale (2006), going on to star in five Bond films through to No Time to Die (2021) — the longest run of any actor to hold the role.
